Chana Dal with Bell Peppers

Ingredients
2 cups Chana Dal (Dried Split Chickpeas)
⅓ cup Oil
1 medium size Onion (roughly chopped)
2 Green Chillies (roughly chopped)
1 tsp Garlic paste
3 medium sized Tomatoes (roughly chopped)
1 tsp Cumin Powder
1 tsp Chilli Powder
1 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Coriander Powder
1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
1 tsp Salt (or as desired)
1 cup Yogurt (non-flavored)
1 Bell Pepper (diced)
4 cups Water
Handful Cilantro
Add the chana dal to a pot with 3 cups of water. Boil for ½ hour or until soft. In a separate pan, heat the oil and saute the onions until golden brown. Add the garlic paste, tomatoes, cumin, chilli, turmeric, coriander, garam masala, and salt.
Instructions
1) Soak the chana dal in water for 1 hour.
2) Add the chana dal to a pot with 3 cups of water. Boil for ½ hour or until soft.
3) In a separate pan, heat the oil and saute the onions until golden brown.
4) Add the garlic paste, tomatoes, cumin, chili, turmeric, coriander, garam masala, and salt. Cook for about 5 minutes on medium heat.
5) Add the yogurt and mix well for a few minutes on medium heat until the oil has come to the surface.
6) Add dal and ½ cup of water. Cook with lid on medium heat for 10 minutes.
7) Add the bell peppers, another ½ cup of water, and simmer for 5 minutes.
8) Garnish with cilantro.
Serve and Enjoy!
