Ingredients

Butter Chicken Nacho Marinade Ingredients: 

  • Chicken Breast - 1 pound
  • Yogurt - 1/3 cup
  • Lemon Juice - 1 Tbsp
  • Salt - 1 tsp
  • Ginger/Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
  • Kashmiri Red Chili Powder -1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Garam Masala - 1 tsp
  • Kasuri Methi - 1/2 tsp (crushed)
  • Oil - 1 Tbsp

Butter Chicken Nacho Sauce Ingredients:

  • Onion - 1 medium (chopped)
  • Cinnamon Stick - 1 stick (broken in half)
  • Red Chili Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
  • Tomato Paste - 2 Tbsp
  • Sugar - 1 tsp
  • Cream - 1/3 cup
  • Oil - 2 Tbsp Ginger/Garlic Paste - 1 tsp

Butter Chicken Nacho Toppings:

  • Plain or Garlic Naan - 4-5 pieces (cut into triangles)
  • Mozzarella or Colby Jack Cheese - 1 cup (shredded)
  • Pickles Jalapenos - 10-15 slices
  • Red Onion - 1 small ( diced)
  • Cilantro - 1 Tbsp (chopped)
  • Sour Cream - 2 Tbsp

Instructions

How to Make Butter Chicken Nachos

1) Being by marinating the chicken.

2) Cut the chicken breast into small bite-size pieces and add to a bowl.

3) To the bowl add 1/3 cup yogurt, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp ginger/garlic paste, 1 tsp kashmiri red chili powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp cumin powder, 1/2 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp garam masala, 1/2 tsp kasuri methi crushed, and 1 tbsp oil.

4) Mix everything well and cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.

5) To make the sauce, add 2 tbsp of oil to a pan and add in 1 medium chopped onion.

6) Let the onion saute for 1-2 minutes then add 1 tsp of ginger/garlic paste and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

7) Next add the spices: 1 cinnamon stick broken in half, 1/4 tsp red chili powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp cumin powder, 1/2 tsp coriander powder,  and 1/2 tsp garam masala. Cook the spices with the onion for 1-2 minutes.

8) Now add in 2 tbsp of tomato paste and cook everything for 2-3 minutes or until the tomato paste begins to change to a deep red color.

9) Add the marinated chicken to the spice mixture and cook for 10-12 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked.

10) Once the chicken is cooked add 1/3 cup cream and 1 tsp sugar and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce has thickened.

11) Set the butter chicken aside

12) To assemble the nachos, cut naan into triangles and lay them onto a baking tray.

PRO TIP: For a flavor burst feel free to use garlic naan or any other flavor of naan you like!

13) Add some of the butter chicken sauce on top of the naan and the shredded cheese.

14) Bake everything at 400 degrees for 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

15) Once ready, remove from the oven and top with chopped red onions, pickled jalapenos, and a drizzle of sour cream.

16) Serve warm and Enjoy while watching the game!
