Gobi Manchurian (Cauliflower Manchurian)

Ingredients
Ingredients for frying the Cauliflower:
1 cauliflower cut into small florets
6 tbsp of all purpose flour
4 tbsp cornflour
1 egg (skip for vegan version)
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
Salt and pepper to taste
⅓ cup water (plus more if needed)
Oil for frying
Sauce Ingredients:
2 tbsp vegetable oil for frying
2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 green bell pepper chopped
1/2 onion chopped
1 green onion chopped
2 green chillies chopped
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp tomato sauce
1 tsp vinegar
1 tsp sugar
½ tsp red chilli powder
Chili paste/Sriracha sauce to taste
Salt & pepper to taste
Try this Indo fusion creation which is crispy cauliflower (gobi) florets tossed in a spicy, sweet and tangy manchurian sauce.
Instructions
Instructions for frying the florets:
1) Blanch the cauliflower florets in hot water for five minutes or until desired softness.
2) To prepare the batter - combine flour, cornflour, egg, ginger garlic paste, salt, pepper and water.
3) Heat oil in a wok or frying pan and fry the florets on medium-high heat until the florets are crisp and golden brown.
4) Once the florets are done, set aside to cool and prepare the sauce using the recipe below.
Instructions for making the sauce:
1) Heat 2 TBSP oil in a wok or frying pan. Add ginger garlic paste, green chillies, onions, and bell peppers and saute for a few minutes.
2) Add soy sauce, vinegar, chilli paste or Sriracha, tomato sauce, chilli powder, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Let saute for a few minutes. Add water if needed to thin sauce.
3) Bring it to boil.
4) Add the fried cauliflower florets to the sauce and toss well.
5) Garnish with more green onion.
